Hip Arthritis
Total Hip Replacement
Total hip replacement has been extremely successful for debilitating hip arthritis.

Before the procedure
An initial consultation will ensure an accurate diagnosis of hip arthritis and non-operative treatment options will also be discussed.
Before the surgery, pre-operative assessment including bloods and pelvic X-rays will be done. The surgery will be planned with the Anaesthetic team and your availability.
After the procedure
Patients usually recover over the next few weeks. They are usually home within 24 hours after a thorough assessment by the dedicated physiotherapy and nursing teams.
It is vital to ensure hip precautions to avoid dislocation and falls. Medication must be taken to reduce the risks and complications of blood clots in the initial post operative recovery period.
An eight-week follow up with Mr Gowda will be arranged.
